meerecompany (CEO Joon Koo Kim) announced on the 17th that its Revo-i surgical robotic system has officially obtained medical device approval from the Vietnam Ministry of Health. This certification paves the way for Revo-i's entry into the Vietnamese market and accelerates its expansion into the broader Southeast Asian robotic surgery sector.

Revo-i, South Korea’s first domestically developed and successfully commercialized surgical robotic system, offers high-resolution 3D imaging, a wide field of view, and multi-joint instruments that enable precise and delicate movements, providing surgeons with an optimized environment for complex procedures. Its intuitive design also makes it relatively easy to learn, even for medical professionals new to robotic surgery.

Vietnam's healthcare market is experiencing a steady rise in demand for high-quality, advanced medical services. According to the Vietnam Ministry of Health, approximately $2 billion is spent annually on overseas medical treatments. With the growing middle class and increasing expatriate populations, the need for enhanced medical facilities and personalized healthcare services is expanding. Furthermore, the Vietnamese government is actively encouraging the establishment of private hospitals equipped with advanced technology¹, further driving the continued growth of the robotic surgery market.

In South Korea, Severance Hospital has successfully performed over 100 robotic surgeries using Revo-i, further solidifying its credibility and market presence.
