meerecompany Supplies Its Robotic Surgical System ‘Revo-i’ to Queen’s Park Women’s Hospital

Planning to Actively Use It for Obstetrics/Gynecology Surgeries for Women

meerecompany (CEO Kim Joon Koo) announced that it has delivered its robotic laparoscopic surgical system, the ‘Revo-i,’ to Queen’s Park Women’s Hospital, a special hospital for women, on the 3rd this month. The company has come to supply the Revo-i also to a hospital in South Korea after it succeeded in exporting the product to Russia in last August.

Queen’s Park Women’s Hospital, located in Haeundae, Busan, is a special hospital for women specializing in laparoscopic surgery for those diseases such as endometriosis and fibroids. The hospital has recorded over five thousand cases of single-hole laparoscopic surgery. Director Choi Jinseok, a specialist in laparoscopic surgery for fibroids, is leading the hospital, with a large number of other obstetrics/gynecology (ob/gyn) specialists. Queen’s Park Women’s Hospital is also known as a hospital designated for the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea by passing the difficult procedure and strict examination of the U.S. Army.

meerecompany has a great significance in that they have supplied a robotic laparoscopic surgical system to a special hospital for women for the first time in South Korea. The company has already proved the robotic surgical system’s universal usefulness through clinical trials before receiving permission from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, but it can be an opportunity to expand the indications of the system by having it used for special surgeries for ladies at Queen’s Park Women’s Hospital, in addition to the active use of the product for general surgical operations at other hospitals who have had introduced the Revo-i beforehand.

meerecompany CEO Kim Joon Koo said, “this supply of the Revo-i is going to serve as an opportunity that the Revo-i enables the surgeons to perform precise surgeries not only in general surgical operations such as prostate resection, cholecystectomy, and appendectomy but also in surgeries in the gynecology,” adding, “it seems that the use of robotic laparoscopic surgical system will increase for various indications from here on, and we plan to concentrate on expanding sales at home and abroad through active marketing strategies in addition to constant increase in the number of cases of surgeries and expansion of indications.”
