meerecompany (CEO Kim Joon Koo) announced on the 26th that it held Revo Day at the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital’s Robot Surgery Center on the 23rd, which demonstrated a gynecology surgery etc. using the laparoscopic surgical robot "Revo-i".

On the Revo Day, Lee Keun Ho, a professor of gynecology department at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, performed an extensive Hystrectomy, while Song Kyo Young, a professor of surgery department, performed gastrectomy using surgical robot Revo-i.

Professor Lee Keun Ho is widely known as a specialist in treating women's cancer, who has performed the most single-port female cancer surgeries in Korea. Professor Song Kyo Young is a highly skilled surgeon in robotic surgery to the extent to be called the master of minimally invasive robotic surgery.

Seoul St. Mary's Hospital introduced laparoscopic robotic surgery when it opened in 2009, and established a robot surgery center in May 2010 by gathering experts on minimally invasive surgery across departments. Currently, it actively uses robotic surgery in various areas such as prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, colon cancer, thyroid cancer, uterine myoma, women's cancer, oral cancer, and lung cancer, and carried out 5,000 cases of robotic surgery up to July 2020.

This Revo Day event is more meaningful in that Revo-i was used for "Hystrectomy" and "Gastrectomy," which are known to have a high level of surgical difficulty, so that it could prove its excellent performance.

The excellence of Revo-i was already shown to doctors around the world at the International Robotic Surgery Live (IRSL), an annual international robotics surgery conference held at Severance Hospital in 2018 and 2019. In addition, clinical research using Revo-i has been underway at Severance Hospital since the second half of last year, and more than 70 robot surgeries have already been successfully performed at Gibbeum Hospital with Revo-i, proving that Revo-i can be used stably in various surgeries.

Lee Ho Kun, head of the Surgical Robot Business Division at meerecompany, said, "This Revo Day proved once again that Revo-i is applicable to high-level surgery. We will do our best for more general hospitals and large hospitals to introduce Revo-i so that more doctors and patients can receive high-quality medical services."
