meerecompany’s first Korean laparoscopic surgical robot Revo-i selected as an innovative medical device

meerecompany (CEO Joon Koo Kim) announced that its laparoscopic surgical robot “Revo-i“(hereafter referred to as Revo-i) was selected as the 10th innovative medical device by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (hereinafter referred to as the MFDS).

The MFDS selects advanced medical devices that have significantly improved safety and efficacy compared to existing medical devices or treatments as innovative medical devices and offers full support for the development and commercialization of the selected innovative medical devices. If designated as an innovative medical device, special support such as priority review over other medical devices or rapid or expedited review support can be given by dividing it into stages of development.

Ho Kun Lee, executive vice president of the Surgical Robot Business Division at meerecompany, shared his feelings on the achievement. "I am very pleased and honored that Revo-i, our laparoscopic surgical robot developed with Korean original technology, was selected as an innovative medical device." He also said, “We will do our best to provide the excellent service of Revo-i to more patients at both top-tier hospitals and small clinics.”

He added, "We expect that the special expedited review and approval of innovative medical devices will be of great help in responding to the market's rapidly changing needs."
