Revo-i was introduced at AUA in New Orleans, U.S. through the Korea Cancer Center Hospital's prostatectomy video

The laparoscopic surgery robot "Revo-i" (hereafter referred to as Revo-i), developed and successfully commercialized by meerecompany (CEO: Joon Koo Kim), was introduced at 2022 AUA Annual Meeting held in New Orleans, U.S., on May 16.

Goon Ho Nah, head of Naver Healthcare Lab, showed a video of an actual surgery using Revo-i in a session involving Laparoscopic Robotic Surgical Systems – Emerging Systems in Urology Use.

AUA (American Urological Association) founded in 1902 is an organization with more than 20 thousand members and extensive history. It publishes the "AUA Guideline" that serves as a medical care guide for global urology doctors. The Annual Meeting where Revo-i was introduced is an academic exchange that is held annually, and famous medical professionals and industry stakeholders from all around the world attend This year's event was especially significant in that it was the first face-to-face event after 2 years from the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goon Ho Nah, head of Naver Healthcare Lab, is an expert in robotic surgery who led the development and clinical study of Revo-i. He served as a principal investigator while he was working as a urology specialist in Severance Hospital and has a history of performing around 3,700 cases of robotic surgery. The video played in this presentation was of a prostatectomy performed by Gang Hyeon Song, head of the OB/GYN Division at Korea Cancer Center Hospital where Revo-i was installed in last November. This video introduced the surgical robot Revo-i and shared its benefits and use cases.

"We are so pleased that Revo-i was introduced at this academic meeting, attended by experts who lead the world's urology treatment and surgery trends. I hope it will make Revo-i more widely known and draw more attention from foreign markets and medical professionals," said Ho Kun Lee, Executive Director, head of the Surgical Robot Industry Division at meerecompany, as he shared his expectations.

Revo-i is a laparoscopic surgery robot that was first developed in South Korea. Revo-i has been lately used for prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy, as well as high-difficulty surgeries such as hysterectomy and thyroidectomy. It provides a clear and magnified view based on 3D technology and fine robot control that exactly reproduces the operating surgeon's hand motions.
